Universal tourism enriching or degrading culture?
In a time of rapid cultural assimilation in which mobility is replaced by the absolute speed of telecommunications technology, travel remains a highly-valued activity... it is ironic that people travel to see different cultures and ways-of-life, and the very fact of their doing so in large numbers has a major impact on the cultures they have come to explore. What we wish to encourage is the richness and diversity of the many cultures, and to inquire how the tools and technology thatrnrnmakes globalization possible can not only preserve and protect the cultures they make accessible but much more than this, to rather encourage a cultural renaissance, a renewal and an enriching of those cultures. We are not seeking uniformity among mankind, we are encouraging "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" - Unity in Diversity.""
