Biological Results of The Snellius Expedition: XIX. Reidentification of The Bathypelagic Fishes of The Family Paralepididae Collected by The Snellius Expedition in The East Indies
The Snellius Expedition 1929-1930 to the East Indies collected four barracudinas from near the Celebes coast. These specimens were identified by Koumans (1953) as Lestidium nudum Gilbert, previously known for certain only from the unique type from the Hawaiian Islands. Through the cooperation of the officials of the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijkc Historic at Leiden—Dr. II. Boschma, former Director, Dr. L. D. Brongersma, present Director, and Dr. M. Boeseman, Curator of Fishes—1 was able to re-examine
these specimens while recently studying Indo-Pacific fishes at the Rijksmuseum
