Rural-urban population movements and its social and economic consequences have attracted much attention in many developing countries today. This is partly due to the fact that the urbanization process in these countries is not accompanied by the opening and appropriate expansion of employment opportunities nor accompanied by the vast expansion of the existing urban facilities.
